Pastor – a minister in charge of a Church or congregation
Entrepreneur - the owner or manager of a business enterprise who, by risk and initiative, attempts to make profits
The minister in charge of a Church or congregation who teaches his congregation that God requires tithes of money is taking a huge risk in his attempt to make a profit… even if the profit is for his Church building and not strictly for himself. Because he preaches the monetary tithe doctrine in hopes of convincing members of the congregation that they should tithe their money,
the minister of the Church is no longer a pastor. He is now…
a Pastor-preneur - a minister who manipulates the Word of God and the people of God for profit.
Pastor-preneur’s can be found in most Christian denominations. (and also in many non-Christian denominations as well) They care not for the lower class that attend their fellowships. Rich or poor, none are considered to be exempt from the minister’s unauthorized monetary tithe demands.
Many members are labeled as criminal if they do not tithe. “You are a God robber!” is shouted from the pulpit. Many are brought into condemnation for not bending to the pastor’s ungodly cries for a tenth of their money. “You are cursed. You will suffer loss at your job. Your family will fall in poor health.” (this is known as bewitching the flock; convincing them that things that are not, actually are)
Many, wanting to avoid the curse that the pastor-preneur has pronounced upon them, will take out loans and put themselves in great debt to appease the god that the pastor is threatening them with. These people perish for lack of knowledge.
If only the members of the congregation would open their Bibles and study, they would find
1. That the commandments given to Israel were not given to the New Testament Church (Psalm 147:19-20 )
2. That God’s commanded tithes were agricultural, not monetary (Leviticus 27:30-33; Deuteronomy 14:22-29)
3. That God said in His Word that His holy tithes were to come from inside the Promised Land, not from Gentile soil (Deuteronomy 12:1-11)
4. That the curses for not tithing were not meant for the New Testament Church. Christ became the curse of the Law for us so we would not have to be subject to that curse. (Galatians 3:10,13)
5. That the basis of our giving should be out of love and desire to see God’s work done in the Earth, not out of coercion or fear tactics used by others to intimidate one into giving away their money (Acts 2:44-45, 4:33ff; 2 Corinthians 9:6-7)
God has given us His Word as our guide in how He expects us to live while upon this Earth. Pastor-preneurs messages are not of higher authority than God’s Holy Word. If the message doesn’t line up with Scripture, it is to be rejected. We must walk in the path God has illuminated with His Word, not upon the dark path of greed and manipulation.
