Law says: Malachi 3:8-10 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Grace says: But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
Truth says: Galatians 3:5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Galatians 3:7-10 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
Galatians 3:12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
Those who would submit to the Law given to Israel must keep the whole Law or they are under a curse.
Many teach that we are to tithe, (a command given only to Israel) or be cursed. Yet, Galatians 3 clearly teach the opposite. The Apostle Paul, who received his doctrine from the Lord Jesus Christ, said "the Law is not of faith," and
But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. (Gal 3:23-25)
Brethren, Law and Faith do not mix. Paul said in Romans 7:1-4 that we who are married to Christ are not to dwell in the house of the Law.. We cannot say we are walking in faith while holding onto the Law any more than we can say we are faithful to our spouses if we are in the bed of another who is not our spouse.
Are you faithful to Christ, who is the giver of eternal life? or to the Law that brings a curse if you do not keep the entirety of the Law? I choose to walk in the liberty wherein Christ has made me free.
I choose to walk in faith.
